In 1999, Rohit’s uncle enrolled him/her in a cricket camp amid financial difficulties at home. The camp coach Dinesh Lad suggested Rohit to join Swami Vivekananda International School, Mumbai, as the school had better facilities for cricket training and he/she was the head coach there.

Dinesh Lad trained Rohit without charging any coaching fees, where the foundation of Rohit’s early professional cricket was laid. It was his/her coach Dinesh Lad who recognised his/her talent and skills and inspired him/her towards cricket.

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma decided to quit his/her studies during graduation after 12th in order to become a hitman by focusing completely on cricket instead of his/her college studies. he/she said goodbye to studies at the age of just 17-18 years.
