After two-three years I started looking for work as an actor- Rithvik
‘That time was difficult for me, but I did not lose patience’

Rithvik Bhowmik, who is called the discovery of OTT, has been very lucky in terms of roles and actors. In a short span of time, he/she got the opportunity to play different characters in projects like Cargo, The Whistle Blower, Modern Love and Majaa Ma. After Madhuri Dixit, Rithvik, who has worked with powerful actors like Naseeruddin Shah, was liked a lot in season two of ‘Bandish Bandits’ after season one. A special conversation with him/her. Regarding the early days of his/her career, Ritvik says, ‘I must have been 18 years old when I came to Mumbai from Bangalore. Although I was also studying and then after two-three years I started looking for work as an actor. I always wanted to become an actor. I was interested in dramas since my school days. -It took me five years to look for work, but I always wanted to do good work. That time was difficult for me, but I did not lose patience and the fruits of patience proved to be sweet. I was lucky that I got the support of talented people in good projects.

Faced difficult times with family

Today Ritwik is very popular, but he/she also struggled for five years. Regarding the difficult times of career and life, he/she says, ‘After coming to Mumbai, I also had to go through struggle, but the time of 2020 was very challenging for me. It was a terrible period of Covid. Everyone was struggling with health problems. There was chaos all over the world. There were also financial problems at home. My father was old and about to retire and suddenly circumstances made me responsible. I was busy with work those days. I don’t even realize that I have indirectly taken up the responsibility of the house. Today whenever I look back at that time, I feel that our family together faced that bad phase and we remained united at that time. That period made us stronger. That was the time when I got the first season of my web series.

obsessed with love

The meaning of love has changed a lot in the new era, but Ritwik is very passionate about love. he/she says, ‘I am an old school lover. If ever there was a chance to choose between love or my legacy and success, I would definitely choose love, because I feel, as long as my love lives, , my art will also live on. I am in that kind of passionate love and hence I can say this with confidence about love. Nowadays, there are many terms related to love like batching, ghosting, situationship, but if you are confused about love or are in any such situation, then I am telling you this story. We were having such a discussion on the set about love, when my co-actor Rajesh Tailang narrated a story. There was a creature in Greek mythology, which was half man and half woman. he/she was so powerful that he/she was overpowering all the gods. To destroy his/her power, the gods cut the demon from the middle and threw it on the earth. Now the day both of them are half complete, love becomes complete. That means whenever you meet your half, you will become complete, so I believe in such love which completes me.

Learned a lot from Madhuri ma’am and Naseer sir

Rithvik considers himself lucky in terms of co-actors, as he/she has got the opportunity to work with renowned artists like Madhuri Dixit in Maja Ma and now Naseeruddin Shah in this series. Regarding his/her experience with these actors, he/she says, ‘I keep telling my director (Anand Tiwari) that you made me bat with the famous batsman Don Bradman (Madhuri Dixit). Gave a chance to play innings with Sachin Tendulkar (Naseeruddin Shah), now only Dhoni and Virat (other big stars) are left. If I get an opportunity to work with him/her, I will learn something from him/her and improve myself as an actor. (Laughs) I learned commitment towards work from Madhuri ma’am. I noticed that these actors do not bring their names or work to the set. I have followed one advice of Naseeruddin Shah Sir, do not keep any criticism in mind and do not give much importance to any praise. This basic mantra of his/her keeps an artist on the ground and does not let him/her fly in the sky. However, this series also has actors like Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chaddha, Atul Kulkarni and Divya Dutta, from whom you definitely take something or the other every day.

Music changed life

Rithvik Bhowmik’s web series Bandish Bandit is based on music, love, heritage and hopes. After the first season, Ritwik took the role of Radhe forward in the second season also. he/she believes that music has changed his/her life. he/she says, ‘Everyone’s endeavor is to bring stability in their life and to give them happiness. If I listen to classical music even for 5 minutes in my daily routine, I feel happy. Classical music has brought a lot of stagnation in my life. It would not be wrong if I say that because of this my career has been set. I am very grateful that the place Point One Percent has given me in the world of music is very valuable. It is music that has changed our personal and professional lives. Although its first season was successful, I was afraid that similar roles would be offered, but I was lucky that I got to do different roles in projects like Whistler Blower, Modern Love and Maja Ma. I look forward to doing more memorable and diverse work in the future.
