‘Rita Sanyal’ Review: This web series of Ada Sharma is an amateurish and careless courtroom thriller.

‘The Kerala Story’ fame Adah Sharma is currently seen in her new web series ‘Rita Sanyal’ on OTT. In this he/she is in the lead role of a criminal lawyer. At the center of the story is a murder case, with Thakral in front of him/her. That Thakral, who is a lawyer by profession and is also responsible for the death of Rita’s father.

Story of ‘Rita Sanyal’ web series

The story starts in a light-hearted manner. Where lawyer Rita Sanyal (Ada Sharma) is defending Rocky. Rocky is a dog accused of climbing a five-foot fence and fathering four puppies. The family of the second dog is demanding compensation of Rs 10 lakh for it. After winning the case, Rita meets Keshav outside the court, whose mother has been arrested for the murder of local MLA Parv Rane. ‘Rita Sanyal’ web series review

‘Rita Sanyal’ is such a legal crime drama that you can easily forget. This is because it doesn’t leave any lasting impact on you after it’s over. This series is based on the novels ‘Rita Sanyal Ke Mukadme’ by writer Aamir Khan. But this series completely tests your patience. Being a court-room drama, the seriousness that the series should have is missing in it.

The title of the series is ‘Rita Sanyal’. Sanyal is a Bengali surname. But there is nothing in the show that connects this character to Bengal. The main character of the series neither speaks a single word in Bengali nor is there any reflection of it in her lifestyle or culture.

Ada Sharma looks comfortable in the lead role. But his/her acting is superficial. his/her every attempt at comedy in the series goes in vain. In the role of Thakral, Rahul Dev looks dangerous in a serious and hard-hearted manner. But the problem with the script is that this entertaining legal drama focuses only on entertainment.

The makers have tried well to establish the character named ‘Rita Sanyal’ as a new face in the genre of courtroom drama. But it would be better if you watch this series only for entertainment.

From the very first scene of the web series, Rita Sanyal takes the legal system lightly. This is enough to indicate the intentions of the producers and writers. Neerisha Basnet plays the character of ‘Zee’, a woman expert in martial arts. he/she has been assigned the task of killing Keshav. But this takes the story of the series in a different direction. It would have been better if the makers had instead spent time on improving the suspense and plot.

Overall, ‘Rita Sanyal’ is an amateurishly made courtroom-thriller and you can decide whether it is worth spending your time on by watching the first two episodes that have been streamed.
