Rishabh Pant wanted to check the market value, hence played a big game with the team, claims the coach.

New Delhi. The coach of his/her old team Delhi Capitals has made a big revelation about Rishabh Pant. Hemang Badani said that Delhi Capitals had made every possible effort to retain Rishabh Pant. But Pant had made up his/her mind to check his/her market value. This was the reason why Pant was not retained despite Delhi’s efforts. Rishabh Pant had entered the IPL auction, where he/she got the biggest bid in history. Lucknow Supergiants bid Rs 27 crore on Pant, which is the highest in IPL history.

The statement of Delhi Capitals coach Hemang Badani is completely opposite to Rishabh Pant’s claim. Rishabh Pant had posted on social media X that there was no financial reason behind his/her not being retained. But it is also true that about one and a half months before this post, Pant had also made a post in which he/she had said that he/she wanted to see how big the bid would be for him/her.

Delhi Capitals’ new coach Hemang Badani made many revelations in the YouTube show with Subramaniam Badrinath. On the question related to Rishabh Pant, Badani said, ‘If you want to retain a player, then both the parties have to agree to it. We tried hard to talk to him/her. The management tried hard to talk to him/her. Many phone calls were made and messages were sent. But it did not work out.

Hemang Badani, who played 4 Tests and 40 ODI matches for India, further says, ‘I think a little differently about this. he/she did not want to be retained. he/she (Pant) said that he/she wants to go to the auction so that the market value can be known. he/she felt that he/she could get more than the maximum amount to be retained (18 crores). his/her guess was also right. he/she got Rs 27 crore. Good for them. he/she is an excellent player. We will miss him/her. But life goes on.
