The Board of Control for Cricket in India said that Rinku Singh and Nitish Kumar Reddy have been out of the team. Shivam Dubey and Ramandeep Singh have been given a chance in their place. Dubey-Ramandeep have seen good performance so far.

How serious is Rinku-Nitish’s injury?

The news of sudden unfitness of both Rinku Singh and Nitish Reddy, who could not play even a single ball in the first match, shocked everyone, which was officially confirmed by BCCI’s mail. Shivam Dubey, who was included in the team, last played an ODI series against Sri Lanka in August 2024. After this, he/she could not play in the home T-20 series against Bangladesh due to a back injury. Shivam Dubey made a comeback to cricket with the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he/she scored 151 runs in 5 innings at a strike rate of 179.76 and took 3 wickets at an economy of 9.31.
