Rigging in NEET 2024? IMA Junior Doctors Network demanded re-examination along with CBI investigation


New Delhi: The result of NEET i.e. National Eligibility Entrance Test 2024 has confused students across the country. Students and their parents across the country are protesting that the result should be canceled or NEET should be held again. 67 students on All India Rank, 6 toppers from the same center, grace marks and before that the paper leak… questions are being raised on the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding the matter. Meanwhile, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Junior Doctors Network has demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities in NEET 2024. Along with this, they have also requested for a re-examination to ensure a fair and transparent evaluation process for all the students. At the same time, the political temperature is also rising in this matter. Congress has demanded an inquiry into the allegations of rigging in the NEET exam under the supervision of the Supreme Court.

IMA Junior Doctors Network issued a letter

National Eligibility and Entrance Test (National Eligibility Criteria The matter of NEET-UG 2024 has now reached the Supreme Court. A group of candidates has filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding a fresh NEET-UG 2024 exam. This exam was conducted on 5 May. The petition alleges that there was rigging in the NEET exam held on May 5. Now the IMA Junior Doctors Network has responded in this matter. They allege that there has been rigging in the NEET 2024 exam. They say that there should be a CBI inquiry into this matter and the exam should be conducted again to ensure a uniform and transparent evaluation process for all students.

Student committed suicide after NEET result

There is continuous anger among the students since the declaration of NEET-UG results. There were protests at many places. A day after the result, an 18-year-old girl committed suicide in Kota, Rajasthan. It is being told that she took a horrific step by allegedly jumping from the ninth floor of a building. A day before this incident, the National Examination Agency (NTA) had announced the NEET-UG result in which the girl had scored 320 out of 720 marks. Police said that the girl was allegedly very upset due to her poor performance in NEET. She had been preparing for NEET-UG for three years.

Congress has raised doubts on the conduct of medical entrance exam NEET-UG and its results and has demanded an investigation alleging rigging in it. Congress has raised the question that how 67 toppers got full 720 marks out of 720 in NEET exam. When every question in the exam was of 4 marks, how did the students get 718-719 marks. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, ‘The investigation of NEET-UG should be done under the supervision of the Supreme Court, so that talented students can get justice. … Paper leak, rigging and corruption have become an integral part of many exams including NEET. The direct responsibility for this lies with the Modi government. Candidates getting caught in the labyrinth of paper leak is playing with their future.’

NSUI-AISA protest, made this demand regarding NTA

Congress’ National Students Wing of India (NSUI) raised questions about NEET. NSUI’s national in-charge Kanhaiya Kumar said, students are committing suicide. Today, even after scoring 600 marks, students are confused whether they will get a seat or not. This NEET scam of NTA should be investigated by the highest judicial authorities and the affected students should be given proper justice. Even if the exam has to be conducted again. Apart from this, the left organization-All India Students Association (AISA) will also demand the abolition of the National Testing Agency in front of the Ministry of Education on June 10.

Many students are in tension due to protest against the result

Many students who have got good results are worried that they will not have to struggle to give the exam again. If the exam is held again, then apart from hard work, students will have to go through mental stress. However, there have been protests in different cities regarding the NEET result. Protests took place in many cities including Kanpur, Lucknow, Noida. Protests are also going to take place in Delhi in the coming days.

What do NTA officials have to say

However, NTA officials have denied the allegations of paper leak. On grace marks, NTA says that some students in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Chhattisgarh had filed a petition in the High Court about wastage of time, after which grace marks were given. On the question of 67 students in the top rank, NTA says that this time the paper was easy. NEET entrance was held last month, for which 23 lakh students had registered.

Calcutta High Court sought response from NTA

The Calcutta High Court has sought a response from the exam conducting agency NTA on a petition alleging irregularities in the conduct of NEET-UG. A division bench of Justice Apurva Sinha Ray and Justice Kaushik Chanda on Friday asked the NTA to file a response within 10 days. The petitioner has said that 718 or 719 marks out of 720 cannot be obtained.
