Kiran Rao’s film ‘Lapata Ladies’ is out of the race for Oscar 2025. Due to which India has got a big shock. People were hopeful that it would be shortlisted. But this did not happen. Now Indian-American music composer Ricky Cage has termed the choice of the film as wrong. he/she shared a post on the social media platform The shortlist has been released. ‘Missing Ladies’ is a very well made, entertaining film (I liked it), but the choice of this film to represent India in the Best International Feature Film category was completely wrong.

Ricky Cage posts about ‘missing ladies’

As I expected, it lost. When will we realize that we are choosing wrong films every year. There are so many great films made that we should win an award in the International Feature Film category every year! Unfortunately we live in the bubble of ‘Mainstream Bollywood’, where we cannot look beyond the films we ourselves find entertaining.

These films may be of low budget or big budget. Whether this film has a star or no star, it should have the touch of excellent artistic cinema. he/she said that most of the members of the Academy would have rejected the film after seeing its poster.
