Rhodes Scholarship for Indians: Britain’s Oxford University is the number one institute in the world. Oxford was ranked first in the recently released Times Higher Education Rankings. There is also a fully-funded scholarship to study at this university, which is known as the Rodes Scholarship. The Rodes Scholarship is a joint initiative of the Rodes Trust and Second Century Founder, John McCall McBain OC. Every year there are five Rods Scholarships available for India. What is the eligibility criteria of Rodes Scholarship?

Citizenship: To avail this scholarship, the applicant must be an Indian citizen. he/she should also have an Indian passport. Refugees or people seeking political asylum in India can also apply for the scholarship.

education: The applicant must have studied in India for at least 4 years out of the last 10 years. 10th and 12th studies should also be from India. Students who have completed graduation and are in final year can also apply.

Age: The age of the applicant should be between 18 to 23 years as on October 1, 2024. This means that he/she must have been born after October 1, 2000 and before October 2, 2006. If someone is older and has completed graduation after some time, then the rules are different for him/her.

Academic Achievements: The applicant must have completed his/her/her graduation degree by July 2025. The applicant’s marks should be good enough to get admission in his/her chosen course at Oxford University. If the applicant has got a first class honors degree, his/her chances of selection increase.

Always apply for scholarship before the last date. Before you can apply for the course of your choice at Oxford University, you must apply for the Rodes Scholarship. What are the documents required for scholarship?

Proof of age: Proof of age can be provided through a photocopy of a birth certificate or a valid passport.
Proof of Citizenship: Photocopy of valid passport or voter ID will be used as proof of citizenship.
Academic Transcript: The college or university in which you are currently studying or have completed your studies. From there you will have to submit your marksheet. You will also have to submit your 10th and 12th class marksheet.
English Language Proficiency: If the applicant’s mother tongue is not English, it is important to review the English language requirements of the University of Oxford. This will tell whether English proficiency certificate has to be given or not.
CV: It should contain information like prizes, scholarships, publications, leadership roles played.
Photograph: You will have to submit a color photograph of yourself in JPG format, in which head and shoulders are visible.
Document Upload: Apart from the required documents, do not upload any other documents, certificates, testimonials or links/URLs.
Personal Statement: Personal statement should not contain more than 1000 words. In this you will have to prove your quality to get the scholarship.
