Republic Day Parade Highlights: What was special in the Republic Day Parade, see the complete highlights

New Delhi: In the grand parade organized on Republic Day, a glimpse of India’s military might, art and culture, diversity and success of government schemes was seen on the path of duty. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who attended the ceremony as the chief guest, also witnessed this grand event of Indian democracy. Apart from President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi including his/her cabinet colleagues and many dignitaries from India and abroad participated in the country’s 76th Republic Day celebrations. Murmu and Subianto reached the duty line in a traditional buggy for the parade ceremony. This tradition was restarted in 2024 after a gap of 40 years.➤ Indonesian President Subianto was the chief guest at this year’s Republic Day celebrations. With this, he/she became included in the list of select world leaders who have graced the country’s biggest event in the last seven decades.
➤ Subianto is the fourth President of Indonesia to attend the Republic Day celebrations. Sukarno, the first President of Indonesia, was the chief guest at India’s first Republic Day celebrations in 1950.
➤ Displaying the diversity of the country, 300 cultural artists dressed in colorful costumes started the 76th Republic Day Parade by marching on the duty path to the tune of ‘Saare Jahan Se Achha’ here on Sunday. These artists were playing instruments related to folk music from different parts of the country.

➤ The country made a grand display of its military power in the Republic Day celebrations. This included elite marching troops, missiles and various indigenous weapons.
➤ For the first time, tableaux of all three services (Army, Air Force and Navy) were seen on the duty path, reflecting the widespread feeling of coordination among the armed forces.
➤ It showcased battlefield scenarios demonstrating military operations with indigenous Arjun battle tanks, Tejas combat aircraft and state-of-the-art light helicopters.
➤ The theme of the tableau of all three parts of the army was ‘Strong and Secure India’.
➤ The cavalry squad was led by Lieutenant Ahan Kumar. Raised in the year 1953, 61 Cavalry is the only serving active cavalry regiment in the world. This was followed by a parade by nine mechanized contingents and nine marching contingents.
➤ Tank T-90 Bhishma, NAG missile system, BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, Pinaka multi-launcher rocket system, Agnibaan multi-barrel rocket launcher, Akash weapon system, Integrated Battlefield Surveillance System and ‘All-Terrain Vehicle’ (Chetak) were also paraded. Be a part of.
➤ Light special vehicle ‘Bajrang’, vehicle mounted infantry mortar system ‘Airavat’, quick reaction force vehicles Nandighosh and Tripurantak and ‘Short-Span Bridging System’ were also displayed.

➤ The marching contingents of the army included ‘Brigade of the Guards’, Jat Regiment, Garhwal Rifles, Mahar Regiment, Jammu and Kashmir Rifles Regiment and Signal Corps.
➤ The Indian Naval contingent consisted of 144 personnel, led by Lieutenant Commander Sahil Ahluwalia and Lieutenant Commander Indresh Chaudhary as platoon commander, Lieutenant Commander Kajal Anil Bharani and Lieutenant Devendra.
➤ The Navy depicted a strong self-reliant navy capable of protecting the maritime interests of the country.
➤ The tableau displayed state-of-the-art frontline combat aircraft including INS Surat, warship INS Nilgiri and submarine INS Waghshir. These are indicative of India’s rapid progress in indigenous warship design and construction.
➤ The tableau also showcased the Indian Navy’s commitment to creating a strong and self-reliant defense environment.
➤ The Indian Air Force contingent included four officers and 144 personnel under the leadership of Squadron Leader Mahendra Singh Garati. After this, ‘fly-past’ was done by three MiG-29 aircraft in ‘Baz Formation’.
➤ Another attraction of the parade was the tableau of ex-servicemen on the theme ‘Ever Moving Towards Developed India’.
➤ Many legendary players who have brought glory to India in sports were also part of the parade.

➤ Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) displayed several important defense systems and technologies developed by it in its tableau. The DRDO tableau displayed quick-reaction, surface-to-air missiles, airborne early warning and control systems, advanced 155 mm/52-calibre howitzers.
➤ It also showcased satellite-based surveillance system, medium-power radar Arudra, advanced lightweight torpedo, electronic warfare system Dharashakti, very short-range air defense system and unmanned aerial system.
➤ In the parade, the indigenously developed ‘Pralaya’ missile system was displayed for the first time.
➤ Indonesia’s 352-member marching and band contingent also took part in the Republic Day parade. This was the first time that an Indonesian marching and band contingent participated in a national parade in another country.
➤ The contingents marching on the duty path included a 148-member women marching contingent of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) led by Assistant Commandant Aishwarya Joy M.
➤ The Assam Rifles contingent was led by Captain Karanveer Singh Kumbhawat of 29 Assam Rifles. It included soldiers recruited from across the country.
➤ The camel contingent of Border Security Force (BSF) was commanded by Deputy Commandant Manohar Singh Kheri.
➤ On the Path of Duty, a glimpse of India’s military might as well as its cultural richness was seen and this was seen in the tableaus of many state and central government departments.
➤ The tableaux of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Punjab, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and some other states depicted a new dimension of development along with the culture and heritage of those states.
➤ In the Republic Day Parade, the tableau of Uttar Pradesh displayed the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj with the display of ‘Samudra Manthan’, ‘Amrit Kalash’ and sadhus and saints taking a dip on the banks of Sangam. The amazing ‘confluence’ of ‘development’ and ‘heritage’ was also displayed in the tableau of Uttar Pradesh.
➤ West Bengal’s tableau featured the state’s ‘Lakshmi Bhandar’ scheme that provides monthly income guarantee to women and the ‘Lok Prasar Prakalp’ initiative to promote folk artistes.

➤ The success of major schemes of the government was displayed through a tableau of the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development, which was part of the Republic Day Parade.
➤ The tableau of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment paid respect to the Constitution of India and depicted it as the cornerstone of the country’s heritage, development and guidance for the future.
➤ Ministry of Tribal Affairs, through its tableau, presented a glimpse of the Tribal Pride Year being celebrated on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of tribal leader Lord Birsa Munda on the path of duty.
➤ The ceremony ended with a spectacular display of 40 aircraft and helicopters of the Indian Air Force. The fleet consisted of 22 fighter aircraft, 11 transport aircraft and seven helicopters. These include Rafale, Sukhoi-30, Jaguar, C-130, C-295, C-17, Dornier-228 and AN-32 aircraft. Helicopters Apache and Mi-17 were also involved.
