Removed own people, brought allies, understand the coalition policy of Modi government from the new entry in Niti Aayog


New Delhi: The government has reorganized the NITI Aayog. The commission has been reorganized after the formation of the new government and the inclusion of some new ministers in the Council of Ministers. There has been no change in the vice-chairman and full-time members of the commission. The chairman of the commission is Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, members of the allied parties have also entered in this reorganization. In the third term of the Modi government, the BJP is taking special care of its allies.

Five ministers from allied parties joined
The number of invited members in the Niti Aayog, which was reconstituted by the government on Tuesday, has been increased from 5 to 11. This includes five ministers from BJP allies – HD Kumaraswamy (JDS), Jitan Ram Manjhi (HAM), Rajiv Ranjan Singh (JDU), KR Naidu (TDP) and Chirag Paswan (LJP-Ram Vilas).

Among the allies included, Kumaraswamy has the Heavy Industries and Steel portfolio, Manjhi has the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises portfolio, Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh has the Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying portfolio, Naidu has the Civil Aviation portfolio and Chirag Paswan has the Food Processing Industries portfolio.

Who did not get a place this time

Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Ashwini Vaishnav, who were earlier special invitees, are not in the list this time. Gadkari, Virendra Kumar and Rao Indrajit Singh were also special invitees earlier. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been included as an ex-officio member. Other ex-officio members include Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

Other special invitees include Union ministers Nitin Gadkari (Road Transport and Highways), JP Nadda (Health), Virendra Kumar (Social Justice and Empowerment), Jual Oram (Minister of Tribal Affairs), Annapurna Devi (Women and Child Development) and Rao Inderjit Singh (Statistics and Programme Implementation).

In simple words, NITI Aayog acts as a think tank for the Government of India. Making long-term and strategic policies for national development. Promoting policy coordination between the Center and the states. Monitoring and evaluation to achieve development goals. Providing assistance to startups and new enterprises. All these are the main functions of NITI Aayog.
