Ravi Shastri’s statement went viral, had to apologise, his/her head was hit by a bouncer

New Delhi. Former head coach of Team India, Ravi Shastri is in the headlines. Shastri is currently doing commentary in the India vs New Zealand test series. he/she spread the wrong news of the demise of former Indian cricketer Nari Contractor on social media, after which there was an uproar in the Indian cricket world. However, as soon as Shastri realized his/her mistake, he/she deleted his/her post. he/she apologized for his/her mistake by making another post on social media. Nari Contractor made her Test debut against New Zealand in Mumbai.

Nari Contractor made her Test debut in the year 1955 in the India vs New Zealand match. Then the New Zealand team came to tour India. The second test match of the series was played at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Shastri apologized and wrote, ‘I apologize. The news of the death of the female contractor is wrong. he/she is good. May God’s blessings be upon him/her.

Nari Contractor’s international career lasted for seven years. he/she started his/her international career through Test in 1955. Contractor scored 1611 runs in 31 test matches. During this period he/she scored 1 century and 11 half-centuries. Born in Godhra, Gujarat, Contractor was a left-handed opening batsman. he/she played his/her last Test match in 1962 against West Indies at Kingston.

Griffith’s bouncer put an end to his/her career
In the year 1962, during the India vs West Indies series, Nari Contractor was hit on the head by a fast bouncer of Caribbean pacer Charlie Griffith, after which her career faltered. his/her head burst and then metal plates were inserted into his/her head. Those plates were removed after 60 years in 2022. However, he/she returned to first class cricket. Contractor played 138 first class matches. he/she has 8611 runs in his/her name in first class matches at an average of 39.86. he/she scored a total of 22 centuries in first class matches.
