Ratan Tata had invested crores of rupees in Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Aitbaar’, said this on violent films


The entire country is in mourning due to the demise of billionaire businessman Ratan Tata. Tears are flowing profusely from the eyes. Ratan Tata, 86, died on October 9 at 11 pm at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Ratan Tata was an amazing businessman, but he/she was also interested in films. he/she once invested money in Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Aitbar’. he/she became the producer of this film. But the fate of this film was such that Ratan Tata had to withdraw his/her hands. he/she never invested money in any film again. ‘Aitbar’ was a psychological thriller, which was released in the year 2004. Apart from Amitabh, it featured Bipasha Basu and John Abraham. Directed by Vikram Bhatt, this film was inspired by the 1996 Hollywood film ‘Fear’. In this, Amitabh played the role of a protective father who goes to any extent to save his/her daughter from her eccentric and dangerous boyfriend.

Budget and earnings of ‘Aitbar’, Ratan Tata lost so many crores

From Amitabh Bachchan to Bipasha Basu and John Abraham, everyone’s performance in ‘Aitbaar’ was greatly appreciated. Despite this the film did not work. The budget of the film was Rs 9.50 crore, and it earned only Rs 7.96 crore. The film could not even recover its cost and Ratan Tata suffered a loss of about Rs 2.5 crore.

Made fun of violent films

It is said that after the poor performance of ‘Aitbar’, Ratan Tata himself did not invest money in films, and also distanced himself from the film industry. However, he/she loved watching movies. However, he/she once made fun of films that featured violence.

‘There is not as much ketchup in Mumbai restaurants as in films.’

When Ratan Tata came to Simi Grewal’s show, he/she said about his/her love for Hindi cinema, ‘You cannot avoid watching it on television today. My Hindi has improved because of watching these films. However, he/she jokingly commented on the excessive violence used in Bollywood films that there is not as much ketchup spread in the restaurants of Mumbai as in the films.
