Ranji Trophy Updates: When out-of-form Rohit Sharma entered the Ranji Trophy on Thursday, a big innings was expected from him/her. Rohit did not live up to this expectation but he/she still has a second chance.

New Delhi. When Rohit Sharma, who was facing drought of runs, entered the Ranji Trophy on Thursday, a big innings was expected from him/her. Rohit did not live up to this expectation but his/her fans need not be disappointed. Rohit Sharma can come out for batting once again on Friday. 17 wickets fell on the first day of the match between Mumbai and Jammu and Kashmir. In such a situation, it should not be a surprise if Rohit is seen batting in the very first session on the second day.

Rohit Sharma could score only 3 runs in the first innings against Jammu and Kashmir. After playing 19 balls, he/she made the same bad shot as he/she did many times during the Australia tour. Rohit tried to play pull on a ball which was not a short ball. As a result, he/she gave an easy catch and returned to the pavilion. Yashasvi Jaiswal could also score only 4 runs.

Jammu and Kashmir had bowled out Mumbai for just 120 runs in the first innings. After this he/she has scored 174 runs for 7 wickets in his/her first innings. In this way Jammu and Kashmir has a lead of 54 runs. Jammu and Kashmir would like to take its score beyond 200 on the second day so that it can get a lead of 80-90 runs over Mumbai.

Apart from Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mumbai team has batsmen like Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dubey. In such a situation, she has the potential to make a comeback. Obviously Mumbai fans expect better performance from their team. There will be a chance to turn this hope into reality in the second innings. It remains to be seen how Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal perform in the second innings.
