Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Stree 2’ left ‘Baahubali 2’ in the dust, defeated it in the 8th week

It’s been almost two months since the release of Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s film ‘Stree 2’. The film has created a lot of magic. People have found a lot of solace in its haunting story and comedy. Now this film is almost towards its end, but even while going on, the film is showing great wonders. Amar Kaushik’s film ‘Stree 2’ earned huge money from the first day itself, breaking record after record. Made at a cost of only Rs 50 crore, the film quickly started making its place among the top films. Gradually, it managed to reach the sixth position in the list of top 10 (India Net Collection) films of the country. Meaning, it defeated many films like ‘Animal’, ‘Pathan’, ‘Gadar 2’, ‘Baahubali’, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, ‘Dangal’ and came to a halt below ‘Jawaan’. At present the matter is stuck here.

‘Baahubali 2’ bit the dust in the eighth week

‘Stree 2’ is giving competition to big films every day even at this stage. According to Sacnilk report, the film has earned around Rs 51 lakh on Wednesday. The film is in its 8th week. However, Thursday’s collection is yet to come. If we look at the total collection of the 8th week so far, the film has earned around Rs 4.10 crore. The country’s biggest film ‘Bahubali 2’ had earned Rs 2.50 crore (Hi: 1.40; Ta: 0.40; Te: 0.50; Ma: 0.20). That is, if we look at the Hindi figures only, it is even less, which is said to be only Rs 1.40 crore. In such a situation, ‘Stree 2’ seems to be far ahead of ‘Baahubali 2’ in this race.

Now about 4 crores away from 600 crores

‘Stree 2’ has earned a total of Rs 596.11 crore so far. Worldwide, this film has so far earned more than Rs 855 crore. Talking about the overseas collection, this film has collected around Rs 134 crore.

‘Stree 2’ is releasing on OTT

Now the coming weekend is not particularly beneficial for ‘Stree 2’. Actually, Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s ‘Jigra’ and Rajkumar Rao-Trupti Dimri’s ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Video’ are going to be released in theaters from October 11. Whereas ‘Stree 2’ is hitting the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video from October 11, 2024. In such a situation, the time from today onwards is going to prove difficult for the film in theatres.
