Rajinikanth’s ‘Vettaiyan’ got the second biggest opening of 2024, ‘Devra’ also showed its attitude on the 14th day

Superstar Rajinikanth and megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Vettaiyan’ has got a good start at the box office. Although, this film has not got any explosive opening, but considering the theme and genre of the film, it is definitely in a strong position. Not only this, it has also become the second highest opening film of Kollywood in 2024 after Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT. On the other hand, the release of ‘Vettaiyan’ has not had much of an impact on Jr NTR’s ‘Devra’. Anyway, the condition of ‘Devra’ is already sluggish, but still it was successful in saving its ground on Thursday. ‘Jai Bheem’ fame director TJ Gyanvel’s action-drama ‘Vettaiyan’ is a little different from Rajinikanth style films. . Gyanvel has brought a message story along with action and style in this film also. From the clash of opinions between Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan to the acting of Fahadh Faasil in the film, it is being praised a lot. In such a situation, it is very possible that due to word of mouth this film will earn better in future.

According to the report of sacnilk, ‘Vettaiyan’ has made a net collection of Rs 31.70 crore in the country on the first day. Out of this, Tamil has earned the highest amount of Rs 27.75 crore, which is purely due to Rajinikanth’s stardom. The film has earned Rs 3.30 crore in the Telugu version. Whereas the condition of the film was bad in Hindi and Kannada. The Hindi version has made a business of Rs 60 lakh, while the Kannada version has made a business of Rs 5 lakh.

‘Vettaiyan’ Worldwide Collection Day 1

‘Vettaiyan’ has made a worldwide gross collection of Rs 67.00 crore on the opening day. Out of this, gross earnings of Rs 30 crore have been made in foreign countries. Dussehra is also the reason for not earning bumper on the opening day. There was Saptami-Ashtami puja on Thursday, hence the audience was busy there too. However, ‘Vettaiyan’, made with a budget of Rs 300 crore, needs to increase its pace.

Thalapathy Vijay’s recent release ‘The Greatest of All Time’ in the year 2024 had earned Rs 45 crore on the first day. In such a situation, ‘Vettaiyan’ has definitely become the second big release of Kollywood this year.

On the other hand, there is Jr NTR’s ‘Devra’, which can now be called a flop. Made under the direction of Koratala Siva, this film has collected Rs 260.88 crore in 14 days. The budget of this film is also Rs 300 crores. It has earned Rs 3.48 crore on Thursday. The film had earned Rs 215.60 crore in the first week. Whereas in the second week only Rs 45.28 crore business was done. ‘Devra’ has made a worldwide gross collection of Rs 384.00 crore in two weeks.
