Rajasthan Royals bet on the player who made Team India win the World Cup and included him/her in the team


New Delhi. Rajasthan Royals on Friday (September 20) announced the appointment of former India opener Vikram Rathod as their batting coach ahead of IPL 2025. The 55-year-old Rathod is the franchise’s second big appointment for the upcoming season after appointing Rahul Dravid as the head coach.

Rathore has worked as India’s batting coach during Dravid’s tenure as head coach. his/her tenure ended after the T20 World Cup this year in which the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team became the champion. Rajasthan Royals said in a statement that “Rathore is joining the coaching team of the Royals after Rahul Dravid’s return as head coach.”

The franchise further said, “This will re-establish a successful partnership that led India to the top spot in the rankings in all three formats during his/her tenure and led the country to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 title earlier this year.”

Let us tell you that Rathore has played six Tests and seven ODIs for India. he/she has 33 centuries in first class cricket. he/she was India’s batting coach from 2019 till the T20 World Cup this year. During this time, he/she played an important role in promoting players like Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill and Lokesh Rahul. Rathore said that he/she is looking forward to working with Dravid once again and contributing to the success of the Royals.
