Rain spoiled the game, if the match was reduced to 10 overs then what will be the target for Bangladesh

New Delhi. The last match of ICC T20 World Cup Super 8 is being played between Bangladesh and Afghanistan. This match will decide the name of the last team to reach the semi-finals. After winning the toss, Afghanistan came out to bat first against Bangladesh and could only score 115 runs for 5 wickets. Rishad Hussain kept Bangladesh in the match by taking 3 wickets. The equations are changing for both the teams in the rain-interrupted match.

The Afghanistan team made a big upset by defeating Australia and staked its claim for the semi-finals. After losing to India, the Kangaroo team’s hopes of progressing got a big blow. Now everything depends on the match between Afghanistan and Bangladesh. The equation of the semi-finals which was before the match has changed due to the rain. The Bangladesh team had to win this match before 13 overs, which now seems to be changing.

Rain can change the equation
When the semi-final battle between Afghanistan and Bangladesh started, the equations were decided for 20-20 overs. The Afghan team batted first and scored 115 runs for 5 wickets, which Bangladesh had to win before 13 overs. If they had succeeded in doing so, the team would have reached the semi-finals on the basis of better net run rate. After Afghanistan’s batting, it rained in the match and it had to be stopped for a while.

If the match is not played for 20 overs and is decided in 15 overs, then Bangladesh will have to score 94 runs in 7.2 overs. If the number of overs in the match is reduced further, then the equation may change. Bangladesh’s target in the semi-finals is clear that it will have to beat Afghanistan with at least 40 balls to spare.
