Railway’s new armor system will not only save trains from collision, it will also be ‘addict proof’

New Delhi: Railways is installing Kavach version-4.0 system to prevent two trains from colliding with each other. It will not only prevent trains from colliding but will also be ‘addict proof’. In view of the problem of drug addicts stealing railway property in different parts of India, the system has been designed not on European but on Indian pattern. In which one part of the system will be installed on the railway lines. Copper will not be used in it. So that drug addicts and smackies don’t steal it for a few rupees.

Railway Minister told how the system will work

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that in about six years the Kavach system will be installed on the railway network of the entire country. An award has also been given for installing this system in 10 thousand locomotives. The good thing about this is that earlier it used to take 14 days to install the armor system in a loco. Due to continuous training of engineers and technicians, this time has reduced to 22 hours.

Behind this, another Railway official said that for this the Railways is also taking the help of an educational technology company. Whose professionals are proving to be very helpful in reducing the long time of applying armor. Apart from locos, initially this system will be installed on 15 thousand kilometer railway routes. In this, the section from Mumbai to Baroda, Delhi to Mathura-Palwal has also been completed. It has been installed on more than one thousand kilometers of rail routes.

This system installed on 1600 kilometer rail route

Railways said that till now this system has been installed on about 1600 kilometers of railway lines. But this is the old version. This will also be updated with the new version. Officials said that broadly the armor system is installed in three parts. In this, one railway line, second engine and third signaling system. It is an integrated system. This Indian armor system, which works through satellite and other technology, will be much cheaper than European countries.

Know the cost of installing armor in one KM

Railway Minister Vaishnav also said that the cost of installing armor system in one loco is around Rs 80 lakh and the cost of installing armor in one kilometer is around Rs 60 lakh. Which is much less than European countries. Secondly, this armor system of India is cheaper and better than that of European countries. Railway officials said that demand is also coming from many countries to install the Kavach system on their railway lines.
