Rahul Gandhi was cornered on Chakravyuh, Anurag Thakur made him/her speechless after listening to Shashi Tharoor’s ‘Mahabharata’

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi referred to the Kurukshetra episode of the mythological text Mahabharata to corner the ruling party during the discussion on the budget. Rahul used the metaphor of Chakravyuh to corner the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. In response to this, the next day Union Minister anurag thakur Thakur targeted Rahul Gandhi with the help of senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s book. Thakur read out some things said in Tharoor’s novel written in English – The Great Indian Novel and said that the party towards which Tharoor has pointed as the Kaurava of the modern era in his/her novel is the Congress party. he/she said that Rahul Gandhi does not read, so he/she does not know what his/her own MP Shashi Tharoor has written about the Congress party and Rahul’s ancestors. Thakur said that Rahul has not even read the copy of the Constitution with which he/she is roaming around these days. In its preface too, the Congress party and Rahul’s ancestors have been severely criticized.

From Jawahar to Indira, Tharoor’s novel attacked a lot

Anurag Thakur referred to three different pages of Tharoor’s novel. On page number 245, he/she referred to the country’s first Prime Minister and Rahul Gandhi’s maternal grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru as Dhritarashtra. Thakur read out the statement from the novel in the House, ‘India, which was led by Dhritarashtra on 15 August 1947, had already gone through the painful process of new birth, and it again got caught in this endless cycle.’ Thakur said that Modi ji was not the Prime Minister on 15 August 1947 and he/she is saying that the one who took power on 15 August 1947 was Dhritarashtra. So who was called Dhritarashtra?

The Great Indian Novel mentioned in Lok Sabha

The Union Minister made the House aware of Tharoor’s views about Indira Gandhi and her son Sanjay Gandhi by referring to page number 293 of the novel. he/she asked who was the person whom Tharoor called an opportunist socialist? he/she said, ‘Who were these Fabian socialists, it is not written by anyone else but by your own MP. It also discusses the Emergency which was imposed by Indira Gandhi.’ Then referring to the seventh chapter of the novel, he/she said that Siddharth Shankar Ray has been called Shakuni in it. Congress leader Siddharth Shankar Ray was the Chief Minister of West Bengal.

Even the Kauravas did not impose emergency: Anurag

Thakur then referred to page number 366 of the novel. he/she said that during the emergency, freedom of press was snatched away, fundamental rights were abolished, freedom of expression was abolished. he/she said that both Dushasan and Duryodhan could have been very wicked, enemies and scoundrels but they never imposed emergency. The Union Minister said that in the entire novel, Kauravas and Kaurava’s party were discussed 74 times, the character of Congress is reflected in each of them. Rahul ji was telling the story of Mahabharata thousands of years ago in the House, but an educated scholar former minister and MP of his/her own party, while writing the story of today’s Mahabharata, tells who was Kaurava, who was Shakuni, who was Dhritarashtra, who was Dushasan, who was Duryodhan, who was Karna. Do read it, you will find everyone’s characters in it.

Do they also feel bad about Rajiv… What did Rahul say that Anurag conveyed it to his/her father?

‘Congress Kauravas tried hard to surround today’s Abhimanyu but got themselves tackled’

Union Minister Anurag Thakur compared the Prime Minister to Abhimanyu of Mahabharata. he/she said that you have been trying to bring down Abhimanyu for the last 22 years, your warriors and your governments from Gujarat to Delhi have been dealt with, but you could not surround him/her because he/she lives in the hearts of the people. Today there are 293 Abhimanyus sitting here. Even if you have a great warrior like Karna, a cunning strategist like Shakuni, Dharma is with us. Even if you have Narayani Sena, but Lord Krishna himself is with us. Then he/she recited two lines of a bhajan, ‘If Shri Raghunath is with us then why worry, when he/she has given shelter to us then why worry.’ Anurag Thakur said, ‘Raghunath in the form of the people is with us and he/she will remain with us in future too.’
