Question was raised on Russia-India friendship, S Jaishankar gave a befitting reply to Australian anchor on the pretext of Pakistan.

New Delhi: Foreign Minister S. An interview of Jaishankar is much discussed. Jaishankar gave this interview to an Australian news channel, in which he/she took on Pakistan while talking about friendship with Russia. The anchor had asked him/her a question regarding India-Russia relations. On this, Jaishankar said that this will not affect India’s relations with Australia. Giving the example of Pakistan, Jaishankar said that in today’s era no country has exclusive relations.

What did you say about Pakistan?

The Australian anchor asked Jaishankar whether India’s friendship with Russia is causing any problems in relations with Australia. Jaishankar replied that he/she did not think so. he/she said that in today’s time no country has exclusive relations. Giving the example of Pakistan, Jaishankar said, ‘If we think according to your logic, then we can say that many countries have relations with Pakistan. In such a situation, India also needs to be worried.

‘The world is benefiting from relations with Russia’

The Foreign Minister said that the international community is benefiting from India’s relationship with Russia. On India’s decision to buy oil from Russia, he/she said that if we had not done so, the global energy market would have been completely destroyed. A global energy crisis would have arisen. Due to this, inflation would have peaked all over the world. he/she said that India’s good relations with Russia can help in starting talks between Russia and Ukraine.

‘India can talk to both Russia and Ukraine’

he/she said, ‘We have good relations with Russia. In such a situation, we are able to negotiate with both Russia and Ukraine. We believe that the world and even Australia need a country that can cooperate in bringing the war to the negotiating table. Most wars end at the negotiating table. he/she said, “It is rare that a war ends on the battlefield, but more often than not it ends at the negotiating table.”
