Allu had further said, ‘When I received the National Award, I was sad. Once I was looking at the list of National Award winners and I did not find a single Telugu name. I had only seen the name of Nagarjuna sir, but he/she also got it for a special role. There was no one as the best actor. It stayed in my mind.

I felt that it took so long for a Telugu star to win this award.
