Pushpa 2 stampede case: Police sent notice to Sandhya Theatre, listed 11 lapses which worsened the situation

Hyderabad Police has issued a ‘show cause’ notice to the management of Sandhya Theater in connection with the death of a woman in the stampede during the premiere of Allu Arjun’s recently released film ‘Pushpa 2’. In this notice, 11 shortcomings of the theater management have also been enumerated, due to which this accident occurred. It has been said in the notice that the theater management had not even informed the local police about Allu Arjun’s visit to the theatre. It is known that during the screening of ‘Pushpa 2’ at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad on December 4, Allu Arjun suddenly arrived. Went. A huge crowd of people started entering the theater to see the actor, causing chaos there. Due to overcrowding, people started having trouble breathing and many even became unconscious. During this, a stampede broke out and the police had to resort to lathi charge. In this, a woman died, while her 8 year old son was injured.

Theater management has 10 days to answer why license should not be canceled

In this case, a show cause notice was issued to Police Commissioner Sandhya Theater Management. In this, the theater management has been asked to explain within 10 days why the license of the cinema hall should not be canceled in view of the incident.

Some of the shortcomings mentioned in the police notice given to Sandhya Theater management are-

1. Allu Arjun was scheduled to reach Sandhya Theater along with other artists on the night of 4th December, but no information was given about this.
2. Unauthorized lighting and flash boards, leading to overcrowding.
3. During the chaos that followed Allu Arjun’s arrival, a large number of people entered the lower balcony of the theatre, leading to a stampede.
4. The theater management neither made concrete planning for the entry or exit of the main actors of the film nor had proper seating arrangements for them, even though they knew that the arrival of the actors would attract people’s attention.
5. The women were not searched and metal detectors were not installed for security.
6. The evening theater had low height gates, which could not handle the huge crowd and the accident occurred.
7. There were not even proper sign boards installed in the theater to guide the people who had come to watch the film.
8. The theater management allegedly encouraged huge crowds of fans to gather by illegally putting up large flex outside the theater without permission.
9. There were neither proper entry points nor exit points for the entry of people. There was no system to control the crowd.
