Professors from top universities of US will teach AI-Machine Learning to Indians, this special scheme launched

Pathway Series for Indian Students: Indian students are going to get a chance to learn things like Artificial Intelligence to Machine Learning from professors of top universities there without going to America. In fact, the Ministry of Education, University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Indian Embassy have together launched the MARG Series (Mentoring for Academic Excellence and Research Guidance). MARG Series is a virtual mentoring program, which has been launched especially for Indian students.
Under MARG, Indian and Indian-origin professors in famous American universities will get an opportunity to mentor students and researchers of Indian universities. This scheme is going to prove very helpful for the students of small cities and towns. The objective of the mentoring program is to expose Indian students and researchers to the latest developments in their fields of study and provide career advice, skills and research opportunities from the best experts in the US.

Which university professors will do the mentoring?

The Indian Embassy located in the US capital Washington DC has said that Indian-origin professors from prestigious American universities like Stanford University, Purdue University, Maryland University and George Mason University are going to mentor the students in the initial phase of MARG. During the inaugural session of the programme, Embassy Deputy Chief Sripriya Ranganathan emphasized on the growing academic, research, skill and industrial ecosystem in India.

Which subjects will be mentored?

Sripriya Ranganathan focuses on critical and emerging technologies including semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), high performance computing, quantum science and technology, bioengineering, clean energy and advanced materials. Ranganathan said that these areas, inspired by the leadership of both the countries, will help in strengthening the academic, research and technology partnership between India and the US. In the coming time, students will be mentored on these topics.

Vice Chancellors and Directors of Indian Universities participating in the program also expressed confidence that these sessions will benefit students and faculty involved in academics, skill development and research in important and emerging technology areas. Students will be able to join this session virtually.
