Priyanka did not want to work in films, she started crying, her mother made her sign the contract

After becoming Miss World, Priyanka Chopra certainly made her Bollywood debut in 2003, but her first film was in the South. Priyanka made her acting debut in 2002 with Thalapathy Vijay starrer Thamizhan. But very few people would know that Priyanka came to films reluctantly. The actress’s mother Madhu Chopra told in a recent interview that Priyanka had refused to work in films. She did not want to do films. But when she got the offer for her first film with Vijay, she cried. Madhu Chopra also shared Priyanka Chopra’s experience of working in her first film in a conversation with ‘Filmi Gyan’. She also told that when Priyanka was not able to match Vijay in dance, she used to rehearse dance from morning till night.

Priyanka said while crying- I don’t want to do films

Madhu Chopra said, ‘Priyanka did not want to act in films. She got an offer for a South Indian film through someone. When I told Priyanka about this offer, she started crying. She said that I am not doing films. But she has always been an obedient child. When I asked her to accept the offer, she agreed and then signed the contract.’

Madhu Chopra further said, ‘When she was shooting for the film, she started liking acting. She enjoyed it despite not knowing the language. The team helped her and treated her with great respect. Vijay acted in the film. he/she is a perfect and gentle person. Raju Sundaram was the choreographer. Priyanka was fine in dance, but initially she could not match the steps with Vijay. She used to practice with the choreographer from morning to evening. Then she started enjoying it. This helped her prepare her character and she realized that she wanted to make a career in this.’
