According to Business Insider, top-15 financial companies have filed around 12,000 H-1B visa applications for the financial year of 2024. These include legendary companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Fidelity, City and Blackrock. These companies want to recruit experts mainly in the fields of technology, finance and data science. This data is from the fourth quarter of 2023 to the third quarter of 2024. This shows the dependence of companies on foreign workers.

How did H-1B visa applications have been made for posts?

The H-1B visa program has been used for a long time to meet the skill shortage from American companies. It is most commonly used in technology sector. The 2024 figures are also pointing to this. More than half of the about 12,000 applications filed by 15 companies are for technical positions such as software engineers, data scientists and machine learning experts. Although the demand for technical posts is the highest, applications have also been made for posts like Investment Banker, Risk Manager and Marketing Analyst.
