The President’s special train arrived at Jhijhak railway station in Kanpur Dehat district at 6.10 pm on Friday. Governor and CM Yogi will welcome President Ram Nath Kovind on his arrival in Kanpur. The President’s special train will reach Kanpur railway station at 7:45 pm.

After this the President will go to his native village Paraunkh and town Pukhrayan by helicopter. A program has been organized in his honor there on 27th June. From there he will come back to Kanpur only on 27th. After staying here overnight, he will leave for Lucknow on the morning of 28 June in his special presidential train. He will stay in Lucknow for two days and reach Delhi on the evening of June 29 by Air Force aircraft.
It was told on behalf of Rashtrapati Bhavan that the President had plans to go to his native village for a long time but due to the pandemic it could not happen. The President of India has been using the train to meet the people of the country. President Kovind is also following the same tradition.
Kovind following traditionAfter 15 years, a President is traveling by train to the country. Earlier, President Abdul Kalam had gone to Dehradun from Delhi to participate in the passing out parade of the Indian Military Academy in 2006. The first President of the country, Dr Rajendra Prasad also used to travel by train frequently. After becoming the President, he went to his native village Jiradei in Siwan district of Bihar. He took a special presidential train from Chhapra to Jiradei and stayed there for three days.
Tight security arrangements all along the wayBefore the arrival of the President’s presidential special train, the state administration and railways are beefing up the security of the entire Kanpur route. For this, on Thursday, officers of Railway, GRP and Police Commissionerate inspected from Lucknow to Kanpur Bridge by sight inspection vehicle. The vehicle is also equipped with state-of-the-art cameras. Through this, recording was also done on both sides of the tracks.
Security personnel will be deployed around bridges, drains and bushes on both sides of the railway line from Delhi to Kanpur. After this, during the journey from Kanpur to Lucknow on June 28, tight security arrangements will be made on the entire railway section. In view of this, on Thursday, officials took stock of both the lines from Charbagh station to Kanpur Ganga bridge. The security team was led by SP Railway Soumitra Yadav.
