New Delhi: Preparations for the Republic Day parade are going on in the country’s capital. This time the Strategic Ballistic Missile Pralay and Long Range Pinaka Rocket System will be displayed in the Republic Day Parade. It will focus on indigenously developed systems. This will be the first time that the surface-to-surface Pralay missile will be included in the parade.

Doomsday is deployed on China border

The Pralay missile with a range of 500 km is for conventional attack on enemy targets. This missile has been deployed on the border with China. Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher is an indigenous success story. Many of its systems are working with the army. An export order with Armenia has already been completed. Efforts are underway to increase the range of the rocket to 75 kilometers and then to 150 kilometers.

The parade will also include a marching contingent of Indonesian soldiers in honor of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, the chief guest of this year’s event. Defense Secretary RK Singh said on Monday that it would include a 160-member Indonesian military contingent and a 190-member band contingent.

77 thousand people will be present

The parade will include 18 marching contingents, 15 bands and 31 tableaux from various states, ministries and security forces. There will be tableaux from many states including Bihar, Goa, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab. A total of 77,000 people will be present to watch the parade this year. These will also include 10,000 special invitees selected by the government.

Sukhoi 30 MKI and Rafale will do flypast

This year the flypast will include many fighter aircraft, transports and attack helicopters. Their absence this year will include the indigenous advanced light helicopters, which are currently grounded following a fatal accident involving a coast guard aircraft. The cause of the accident is being investigated.

The suspected faulty transmission system has been sent to Bengaluru for detailed analysis. Fighter aircraft including Sukhoi 30 MKI and Rafale will be part of the flypast, while light combat aircraft will not be part of the parade this year.
