New Delhi: The atmosphere inside the Supreme Court remained pleasant on Tuesday. Justice Roy and CJI Chandrachud laughed at each other. On his/her light-hearted habit of speaking, Justice Hrishikesh Roy said he/she had both a compliment and a complaint. The CJI also smiled at this style of Justice Roy. Apart from this, Justice Roy also praised the contribution of other judges like Justices Nagarathna and Dhulia. Both praise and complaint from CJI
Justice Hrishikesh Roy echoed the majority judgment by saying that the material resources of the community cannot include every private property. Praising CJI Chandrachud, he/she said that the intellectual resources of the SC are also physical resources and the CJI has made full use of it in the last few months. The CJI heard all three matters before a nine-judge bench – the right of states to levy royalty on extracted minerals, the right of states to impose tax on all types of liquor including industrial alcohol and Article 39(B) – on Tuesday in a lengthy hearing. -Wide majority decisions have been written.

What did the CJI say?
Elaborating on his/her complaint, Justice Roy said that now that the CJI has three days left in office, some physical resources (intellectual resources) should come from other benches. CJI Chandrachud took this as a compliment and thanked Justice Roy, but the next moment said that a lot of intellectual resources had also come from other judges like Justices Nagarathna and Dhulia.
