Polarization in Jammu region, pushing Congress on the backfoot, BJP attacks on the statement of former Pakistani minister

New Delhi: Top Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Thursday hit out at the Congress-National Conference alliance, citing Pakistani minister Khawaja Asif’s alleged remarks on Article 370 and accused the two parties of pursuing the neighbouring country’s agenda in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. Several BJP leaders shared Asif’s remarks on a Pakistani channel ‘X’ in which the Pakistani leader said his/her country agrees with the Congress-National Conference’s views that Article 370 should be restored.

‘Excitement in Congress-NC in Pakistan’

While addressing an election rally in Katra, Jammu, Prime Minister Modi said that there may not be enthusiasm about Congress-National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, but the neighbouring country (Pakistan) is very enthusiastic about them. he/she said, ‘Congress-National Conference alliance is very popular in Pakistan. Pakistan is very impressed with their manifesto.’

‘Will not let Pakistan’s agenda be implemented’

Modi said that Pakistan’s Defence Minister has openly supported the Congress-National Conference and he/she says that the agenda of both the parties regarding Article 370 and 35A is the same as Pakistan’s agenda, that is, Pakistan itself has exposed this alliance. he/she said, ‘Today Modi is telling Congress-National Conference in a loud voice… we will not let Pakistan’s agenda be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. No power in the world can bring back Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.’

Amit Shah also targeted

Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that this has once again made it clear that the country’s main opposition party and Pakistan have the same intentions and agenda. he/she said in a post on ‘X’, ‘Pakistan’s Defense Minister’s statement of supporting Congress and National Conference on Article 370 and 35A has once again exposed the Congress. This statement has once again made it clear that Congress and Pakistan have the same intentions and agenda.’

he/she alleged that for the last few years, the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has been standing with every anti-India force, hurting the sentiments of the countrymen. he/she said, ‘Whether it is asking for proof of air strikes and surgical strikes or saying objectionable things about the Indian Army, Rahul Gandhi’s Congress Party and Pakistan have always been on the same page and the Congress has always been with the anti-national forces.’ he/she said, ‘But, the Congress Party and Pakistan forget that there is a Modi government at the Centre, so neither Article 370 is going to come back in Kashmir nor terrorism.’

‘People will teach a lesson to the traitor alliance’

Sharing Asif’s alleged comments, BJP’s election in-charge for the elections Ram Madhav said on ‘X’, “There is a clear challenge for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The people will teach a big lesson to this traitorous alliance in the elections. Jammu and Kashmir will stand with those who stand with Hindustan, not with those who stand with Pakistan.”

Let us tell you that the National Conference has promised to support the restoration of Article 370 in its manifesto, while the Congress has maintained silence on the controversial issue.

‘Opposition alliance is running Pakistani agenda’

BJP general secretary and party in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir affairs Tarun Chugh claimed that the opposition alliance is running a Pakistani agenda in the current elections. Chugh alleged that it is now clear that the Congress-National Conference alliance is working at the behest of the Pakistani government and Pakistan’s intention to interfere in the elections has also been exposed. he/she alleged that keeping the situation in Jammu and Kashmir unstable has been a major agenda of the Abdullah and Gandhi families. Chugh told reporters in Jammu, “It is clear from the statement of Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif that Rahul Gandhi and Farooq Abdullah are speaking the language of Pakistan.”

Asif’s remarks came amid the ongoing assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Assembly elections are being held here for the first time after the special status of the state was revoked in 2019.
