PM Modi will inaugurate WTSA 2024 and IMC, this event is being organized in Indo Pacific for the first time

New Delhi: Bharat Mandap of Pragati Maidan was seen buzzing with representatives from India and abroad on Monday. Because the World Standardization Assembly of the International Telecommunications Union is starting here from Tuesday which will continue till October 24. In view of this, PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the eighth edition of the World Telecommunication Standards Conference (WTSA) and India Mobile Congress of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on Tuesday. This information was given by the PMO on Monday. This is the first time that this program is being organized in the Asia Pacific region.

There will be discussion regarding quantum technology and 6G

During this period, more than three thousand world leaders and technology experts from 190 countries will participate here. In this program there will be discussions on Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Cyber ​​Security, Machine to Machine Communications and Quantum Technology and 6G. It is one of three international conferences organized by the International Telecommunication Union every four years. It is considered an important event in the context of the world’s technological landscape and plays an important role in shaping the future of communication technologies through its suggestions and proposals.

Expected investment of 450 billion dollars in the economy

Speaking at the Global Standards Symposium a day before the WTSA, Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said it is important to take care of privacy and transparency in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Scindia also said that the last decade has been a milestone for India in the field of digital domain, the change in the field of technology is like a paradigm shift, which was not felt in many decades before this. Indian Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia claimed that 5G in India is expected to bring an investment of $ 450 billion in the economy by the year 2040.

‘5G is not just a matter of faster internet’

he/she said that 5G is not just a matter of faster internet but it is laying the foundation for smart cities, infrastructure and innovation. he/she also said that India has rolled out 5G across the country in just 22 months, which gives an idea of ​​our experimentalism. Apart from this, Scindia also mentioned UPI, Aadhaar, DigiLocker and India Stack, emphasizing that this is also focusing on social inclusivity.

IMC has reached its eighth edition where this time the participation of more than 400 exhibitors, about 900 startups and more than 120 countries is expected. This time the theme of this event is The Future is Now and it will present the ecosystem of Indian innovation to the world in which everything from quantum technology to circular economy will be discussed along with 6G, 5G, cloud and edge computing.
