PM Modi will inaugurate Pune Metro today, ticket price is less than Delhi Metro, passengers get special pass.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the Pune Metro line on Sunday, September 29 (Sunday). The inauguration of the metro line between Shivaji Nagar District Court and Swargate will be done virtually. After which the work of Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1) will be completed and the journey of the people of Pune will become easier. Not only this, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of Swargate-Katraj Metro today.

The approval to build Metro in Pune was received from the Central Government on 7 December 2016. PM Narendra Modi laid its foundation stone on 24 December 2016. Pune Metro consists of 3 lines. While Pune Metro has completed Metro Lines 1 and 2, it is lagging behind in terms of work on Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited (PITCMRL//Puneri Metro) Metro Line 3 from Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar.

The project, which started on November 25, 2021, is proposed to be completed by March 24, 2025, but so far 68.5% has been completed, while 90% of the work should have been completed.
