PM Modi will celebrate Yoga Day at Dal Lake in Srinagar, understand the significance of this visit amidst terrorist attacks

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Kashmir on June 21. he/she may attend the International Yoga Day program to be held on the banks of Dal Lake. This visit of PM Modi is going to take place at a time when many terrorist attacks took place in the valley. PM Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir has many meanings. This will be Modi’s first visit to Kashmir after taking oath as the Prime Minister of the country for the third consecutive term on June 9. Officials have started preparations for this visit and at present the program is scheduled to be organized on the lawn of the International Conference Center located on the banks of Dal Lake.

PM will reach Srinagar on 20 June

“The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Srinagar on June 20 to participate in the Yoga Day event on the morning of June 21,” an official said. Hundreds of participants are expected at the event. Preparations for the Yoga Day have begun. The venue will be sanitised and a team of the SPG will arrive in Srinagar later this week. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has directed the administration and security forces to conduct the event in a safe manner. The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council has been directed to bring athletes and sportspersons for the event.

Why is PM Modi’s Kashmir visit important?

The Prime Minister’s visit to Kashmir on Yoga Day on 21 June is considered very important. Through this visit, Modi wants to give a message to the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the valley is safe under Modi’s rule. By participating in the program, the PM will give the message that the security system in Kashmir is tight. At the same time, the terrorists will also get a strong message that India is ready to give a befitting reply to terrorist conspiracies. This visit of Modi is taking place at a time when many terrorist attacks have taken place in the areas of Jammu in the last few days. The thing to note here is that terrorists are now seen active in the areas of Jammu. Union Minister Jitendra Singh says that the terrorists are frustrated because they are not able to do anything in Kashmir.

Modi government wants to promote tourism in Kashmir

There are many tourist places in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. But tourism in Jammu and Kashmir has been affected due to terrorist activities. Now the Modi government is again making a strategy to promote tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. Organizing a Yoga Day program on a large scale near Dal Lake is also a part of this strategy. Last year, International Yoga Day was celebrated in the Botanical Garden, in which LG Manoj Sinha and other top officials of Jammu and Kashmir participated. This time PM Modi himself will reach here.

Jammu and Kashmir BJP also started preparations

The BJP unit in Kashmir has also begun preparations to welcome the Prime Minister. BJP’s Muhammad Arif said, “It is a special occasion and an honour for us that we are hosting PM Modi in Kashmir, who has become the Prime Minister for the third time.” Modi’s last visit to Srinagar was in March this year, when he/she addressed an election rally at Bakshi Stadium, which was attended by hundreds of people, including government employees.
