PM Modi in UN: Global reform is needed for peace, India is ready… PM Modi’s clear message to the world from the UN

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations in America. he/she said that reform is needed for global peace. PM Modi said that in June, in the biggest elections in human history, the people of India have given me the opportunity to serve for the third consecutive time and today I have come here to convey the voice of this one-sixth part of humanity to you. When we are talking about the global future, a human-centric approach should be the first.

‘We have lifted 25 crore people out of poverty’

PM Modi said, ‘While giving priority to sustainable development, we also have to ensure human welfare, food, health security. We have shown that sustainable development can be successful by lifting 250 million people out of poverty in India. We are ready to share this experience of success with the Global South.’

‘Reform is needed for global peace’

At the UN, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘The success of humanity lies in our collective strength, not in the battlefield. Reforms in global institutions are important for global peace and development. Reforms are the key to relevance… On one hand, there is a big threat to global peace and security like terrorism, while on the other hand, new grounds for conflict like cyber, maritime, space are emerging. Global action on all these issues should match global ambition.’

‘Digital infrastructure should be a bridge, not a barrier’

Narendra Modi said, “Balanced regulation is needed for safe and responsible use of technology. We need a global digital governance in which national sovereignty and integrity remain intact. Digital public infrastructure should be a bridge and not a barrier.” he/she further said that ‘One Earth’, ‘One Family’ and ‘One Future’ is a commitment for India. This commitment is also seen in our initiatives like ‘One Earth’, ‘One Health’ and ‘One Sun’, ‘One World’, ‘One Grid’…”
