PM Modi in Ukraine: When SPG commandos became PM Modi’s shield in Ukraine, foiled every threat

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited war-torn Ukraine. Tight security arrangements were made during PM Modi’s visit to Ukraine. In view of the anti-India sentiments in Ukraine, SPG commandos left no stone unturned in protecting Modi. When Prime Minister Modi was paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv, SPG commandos used bulletproof shields. This was done because some people in Ukraine were protesting against India’s closeness with Russia.

PM protected with bulletproof shield

Indian intelligence agencies had already warned PM Modi’s team about anti-India sentiments in Ukraine. After this, 60 SPG personnel were deployed for the security of the PM. SPG Director Alok Sharma himself was leading this operation. When PM Modi was walking in the Peace Park, bulletproof shields were used to avoid sniper attacks. It was clearly visible in the video released on news channels that strict security arrangements were made. The entire area was surrounded by security personnel. When PM Modi left for Poland, the SPG team heaved a sigh of relief.

PM Modi met Zelensky

PM Modi met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his/her visit. During this, he/she said that Ukraine and Russia should negotiate as soon as possible and find a way to end this war. PM Modi said, “We (India) are not neutral. We have chosen a side from the beginning and we have chosen the side of peace. We have come from the land of Buddha where there is no place for war.”

Prime Minister Modi further said that India is ready to play an active role in every possible effort to restore peace in Ukraine. he/she said that he/she would also like to personally contribute to ending this conflict.
