PM Modi called Team India and praised Hardik and Surya a lot


New Delhi. After the victory in the T20 World Cup, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the Indian cricket team on phone on Sunday morning and congratulated the entire team. During this, he/she congratulated Rohit Sharma for his/her excellent captaincy and praised his/her T20 career. he/she also praised Virat Kohli’s innings in the final and his/her contribution to Indian cricket.

PM Modi praised Hardik Patel’s last over and Surya Kumar Yadav’s catch. Along with this, he/she also praised Jaspreet Bumrah’s contribution. The Prime Minister also thanked Rahul Dravid for his/her contribution to Indian cricket.

‘Captured millions of Indian hearts’
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also released a video message late on Saturday night congratulating Team India on this victory. In this, he/she said, ‘Congratulations to Team India on behalf of all the countrymen on this magnificent victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Today 140 crore Indians must be feeling proud of your performance. You won the World Cup on the sports field, but your performance in the competition captured the hearts of crores of Indian citizens.’

Let us tell you that Team India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in a thrilling match played in Barbados on Saturday to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. South Africa needed 30 runs off 30 balls to win the T20 World Cup, but Hardik Pandya’s 3-20 and Jasprit Bumrah’s 2-18 helped unbeaten India win their second title in the shortest format with a seven-run win at Kensington Oval on Saturday.

Charismatic batsman Virat Kohli put an end to his/her poor form by scoring 76 runs in 59 balls and helped India post a competitive score of 176/7. In response, South Africa were trying their best to chase the target. But Hardik dismissed Heinrich Klaasen to guide India back into the match and restrict South Africa to 169/8 to end their 11-year-long global trophy drought.
