Played an innings of 191 runs, then showed generosity, donated the award money

New Delhi. Bangladesh’s experienced wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has donated the money he/she received as Player of the Match award for a noble cause. Mushfiqur played a brilliant innings in the Rawalpindi Test match against Pakistan. he/she missed a double century by 9 runs. Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 10 wickets in the first Test match. Mushfiqur Rahim played an important role in this victory, who scored 191 runs in difficult times and gave the team a big lead of 117 runs. This is the fourth time in Pakistan’s Test history that it has lost after declaring the innings.

After being selected as the Player of the Match, Mushfiqur Rahim said, ‘This is one of my best innings. Because we did not perform well abroad. All the players prepared well at home before coming to Pakistan. There was a gap of 3 months before the Test series. I am grateful to the coaching staff and management. I try to give my best. Performing well for my country inspires me. I want to make an announcement. I want to donate my prize money to the Bangladesh flood victims.’

Bangladesh did this feat for the first time
This is the first time that Bangladesh has registered a win despite declaring the innings against the opposition team. This was Bangladesh’s third-highest score in Test cricket. Earlier, Bangladesh had scored 638 runs against Sri Lanka in Galle in 2013 which was a draw. In 2017, Bangladesh declared the innings after scoring 595 runs for 8 wickets against New Zealand. It lost this match. It registered a spectacular victory by scoring 565 runs against Pakistan in Rawalpindi.

Bangladesh won for the first time in 14 tests
Bangladesh has won for the first time in the 14th Test against Pakistan. Before this, it had lost 12 Tests while one Test was drawn. Bangladesh team has not been able to defeat India and South Africa in Tests yet.
