This bridge is expected to open next month, but the confirmed date of its opening has not been given yet.

Mumbai Bandra-Worli Sea Link is already an amazing cable stayed bridge, which has given Mumbai a boost. Let us tell you, now the structure of Ray Road Bridge is similar to Bandra-Worli Sea Link, but it is Mumbai’s first cable-stayed bridge built completely on the ground. This 6-lane bridge spanning 385 meters including two ramps also has footpaths for pedestrians. Let us tell you, initially the estimated cost of the project was Rs 145 crore, but later the cost has increased to Rs 175 crore.

Mumbai’s cable-stayed bridge is replacing the older British-era bridge built in 1910, which had only 1.5 lanes on each side. Let us tell you, during the British rule, the railway station and bridge on the Harbor Line were named Ray Road (Governor Lord Ray flyover being ready in new form) after the Governor of Mumbai, Lord Ray.

With the passage of time, the bridge was becoming very dangerous, which is not at all safe for the people. Let us tell you that due to the low height of this bridge, the bridge was badly damaged due to collision with big trucks many times. In such a situation, it was decided to replace this more than 100 years old British era bridge with a modern cable-stayed bridge.
