Riddhima Kapoor, daughter of Bollywood veterans Neetu and Rishi Kapoor and sister of Ranbir Kapoor, has revealed why she wants to remove her daughter Samara from Instagram. In an interview clip with Galata India, Riddhima talked about trolls, which is now going viral on Reddit. She compared trolls to house helpers in the clip. The comment did not go down well with people and has sparked discussion online. Riddhima Kapoor got on the wrong side by saying that trolls can be ‘house servants’. In April, she had spoken with her daughter Samara and shared that she wants to keep her off social media. She had said, ‘She (Samara) wants to be on social media, honestly I don’t want her to be on social media. I want her to stay away from social media.’

I did not like this thing about Riddhima

Riddhima said, ‘But I told her that if you still want to keep your account there, then don’t get affected by trolls and you cannot read all your comments. People will write all kinds of things. Anyone sitting anywhere is writing these comments. It may be a domestic servant writing it, who knows?’

People are angry at this statement of Riddhima and one of them said- whatever she said made no sense, except when she sidelined the househelp. Like househelp should not be on social media and all trolls are of a lower class than her. I wish she realized how dirty her thinking is. One wrote- Very unnecessary, classist and even bad. Why can’t a servant run social media.

Riddhima’s husband and daughter

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni is the elder sister of actor Ranbir Kapoor. She is married to Delhi businessman Bharat Sahni. The two first met while studying in London and after a five-year relationship, they got married on 25 January 2006. They have a daughter, Samara Sahni, who was born in 2011.
