Parliament Winter Session: Winter session of Parliament from today, know on which issues can be discussed

New Delhi: There are chances of uproar in the Parliament session starting from Monday. In the all-party meeting held on Sunday, Congress demanded a discussion on the allegations of bribery against Adani Group. Apart from this, the opposition party has also demanded discussion on Manipur issue, pollution in North India and rail accidents. The government appealed to the leaders of all parties to allow the House to function smoothly. 16 bills including the Waqf Amendment Bill have been listed for this session. 42 leaders from 30 parties have participated in the all-party meeting. There will be a special program in the Central Hall on the occasion of completion of 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution. This session will continue till December 20. After the all-party meeting held on Sunday, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the leaders of all political parties have presented their views. The government has appealed to all the leaders to ensure that the winter session of Parliament runs smoothly. It is expected that there will be good discussion in this session. The government has noted all the suggestions of the opposition. The Business Advisory Committee will decide on which issues will be discussed. The government is ready for discussion. The only request is that the House should run smoothly and there should be no ruckus. To run the winter session well, everyone’s cooperation is needed and everyone’s participation is necessary. There are many topics, everyone said that there should be discussion on some topics. The government is always ready. The House should function smoothly and there should be no uproar. If any issue is raised in Parliament, it should be discussed peacefully. Every member wants to participate in the discussion.

16 bills including Waqf Amendment Bill are listed for the session.

16 bills including the Waqf Amendment Bill have been listed for this session. The pending bills also include the Waqf (Amendment) Bill which has been listed for consideration and passing after the joint committee of both the Houses submits its report in the Lok Sabha. All eyes will be on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, which was sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) after being introduced in the Lok Sabha during the monsoon session. The committee is to submit its report on the last day of the first week of the winter session. There is a possibility of uproar in the current session as opposition parties have already demanded extension of the tenure of the JPC examining the Waqf Bill.

Opposition parties and Muslim organizations have opposed several amendments proposed in the new bill. Where the opposition members of the committee are demanding extension of the deadline for submitting the report of the committee. On this, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister said that there is a provision to extend the tenure of the Joint Committee, but there has been no discussion on it yet. The 16 bills which have been listed include Punjab Courts (Amendment) Bill, Indian Ports Bill, Merchants Shipping Bill, Railways (Amendment) Bill, Banking Laws (Amendment) Bill to be introduced and passed. . The proposed bills to hold simultaneous elections in the country are not part of the list yet, although the government may bring proposed laws in the upcoming session.

Constitution Day on 26th November

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that Constitution Day will be celebrated on 26 November 2024. President Draupadi Murmu will address the members of both the houses in the House. Some important documents will also be issued. Many things related to the Constitution are going to be published. We all should try to take the basic spirit of the Constitution to the people. This is the 75th year of Constitution Day, so it will be celebrated throughout the year in the country. President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and PM Narendra Modi will on Tuesday attend a special event to mark 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution by the Constituent Assembly. This program will be organized in the historic Central Hall of the Constitution House. A commemorative coin and a postage stamp will be released on the occasion.

There should be discussion on Adani Group and Manipur: Congress

After the all-party meeting, Congress leader Pramod Tiwari, while talking to the media, said that his/her party urged the government to allow discussion in Parliament on the bribery allegations against Adani Group. he/she said that his/her party wants this issue to be raised first in the Parliament meeting on Monday. This is a serious issue involving the country’s economic and security interests as the company reportedly paid over Rs 2,300 crore to politicians and bureaucrats to get favorable deals for its solar power projects.

US prosecutors have accused billionaire Gautam Adani of being part of a scheme to bribe Indian officials to secure favorable solar power contracts. Congress also wants discussion on issues like severe air pollution in North India, the situation in Manipur which is getting out of control and rail accidents. At the all-party meeting in Parliament, National President of Azad Samaj Party Chandrashekhar Azad said that equal education is the need of the country. The way government schools are being closed in Uttar Pradesh, it is closing the way for the children of poor people to progress. Our health policy is very weak, there is also the issue of caste census. The government also does not have any plan regarding employment of youth, these topics should be discussed in the House.
