Parliament Session: The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha begins tomorrow, read what will happen from June 24 to July 3

New Delhi: The first session of the eighteenth Lok Sabha in the third term of the Modi government is starting tomorrow i.e. Monday. In this session, attention will be paid to the oath of new MPs, the election of the speaker and the actions of the opposition. The strength of the opposition has also increased, so the scene inside the house will also change. This will be a session of ten days and even before the session begins, the opposition is raising questions about the pro tem speaker. The Parliament session will start from June 24 and will run till July 3. There will be a total of 8 meetings in this ten-day session. There will be a holiday on June 29 and 30. ➤ President Draupadi Murmu will administer the oath to Bhartruhari Mahtab as Protem Speaker (temporary Speaker of Lok Sabha) at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. Mahtab will then reach Parliament House and begin the proceedings of the Lok Sabha at 11 am.

➤ At the beginning of the proceedings, there will be a moment of silence. After this, Lok Sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh will table the list of members elected to the lower house. After this, Mehtab will request the Leader of the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to take the oath of membership of the House.

➤ After this, the Protem Speaker will administer the oath to the Committee of Speakers appointed by the President, which will assist him/her in running the proceedings of the House till the election of the Lok Sabha Speaker on June 26. After the Committee of Speakers, the Protem Speaker will administer the oath to the members of the Council of Ministers as Lok Sabha members. After this, other Lok Sabha members will take oath in the next two days in the order of the first letter of their name.

➤ The election for the post of Lok Sabha Speaker will be held on Wednesday, June 26. This time there is a lot of discussion about the post of Speaker. It remains to be seen whether a consensus is reached on the post of Speaker or not.

➤ The President will address a joint meeting of both the houses of Parliament on June 27. In which the roadmap of the new government for the next five years will be told.

➤ The discussion on the motion of thanks to the President’s address will begin on June 28. The Prime Minister is expected to give his/her reply to the discussion on July 2 or 3. The Parliament session will conclude on July 3. To present the Union Budget, both the Houses of Parliament are expected to reconvene in the third week of July.
