Parliament session is going to start from November 25, MPs will sit in the one day old Parliament also, know the plan

New Delhi : The winter session of Parliament may begin later this month. This session can run from 25 November to 20 December. A report by our associate Times of India also states that the Parliament session may start from November 25. The special thing is that this time the MPs of both the Houses can sit in the old building of Parliament for one day. A joint session of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha can be called on 26th November. This joint session is to be called on November 26, on the occasion of completion of 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution. A one-day joint session is likely to be convened in the old Parliament House. This special joint sitting is likely to be arranged in the Constitution House located in the Central Hall of the old Parliament House. It was at this place that the Constitution was adopted on 26 November 1949. That is why 26th November is now also celebrated as Constitution Day. The Indian Constitution was fully implemented on 26 January 1950.

26 November was earlier celebrated as National Law Day. But in 2015, Narendra Modi government announced to celebrate 26 November as Constitution Day.

Interestingly, both the ruling NDA and the opposition Indian Alliance present themselves as protectors of the Constitution. It is no less interesting that BJP and Congress leave no stone unturned in promoting each other as enemies of the Constitution. This time in the Lok Sabha elections, the opposition including the Congress tried to run the same narrative that if the Modi government comes to power again, the Constitution will be in danger. Incidentally, the Modi government managed to score a hat-trick of victories and interestingly, in the same July, it announced that June 25 would be celebrated as ‘Constitution Murder Day’ to remember the dark days of the Emergency.
