Parliament Session: Constitution will be discussed in Rajya Sabha today, chances of uproar in the House

New Delhi: After the completion of the discussion in the Lok Sabha on completion of 75 years of the Constitution, now all eyes are on the Upper House. The Constitution is to be discussed in the Rajya Sabha today and on December 17. After the start of the winter session, there has been a heated debate on many issues between the ruling party and the opposition in the Rajya Sabha. The opposition India Bloc has also given notice to bring a no-confidence motion against Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. After the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, the second day of debate in the Lok Sabha, BJP and Congress are continuously attacking each other. In such a situation, there is a possibility that during the discussion on the Constitution in the Rajya Sabha, heated arguments may also be seen between the ruling and opposition leaders. The opposition seems united regarding the no-confidence motion against Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar.

What is the stand of TMC?
On Sunday, Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien said that his/her party wants the House proceedings to continue and the Constitution to be debated. But, he/she also said that it is important that BJP MPs do not disrupt the proceedings. he/she held BJP responsible for several adjournments in the Rajya Sabha last week. The House proceedings were disrupted last week due to multiple adjournments over the Adani controversy, Soros issue and no-confidence notice. In response to a question asked about the discussion to be held in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, he/she said that we want the proceedings of Parliament to go on, we want to raise issues affecting the people.

BJP issued whip
A two-day discussion is to begin in the Rajya Sabha from Monday. BJP has issued a three-line whip to all its Rajya Sabha MPs asking them to be present in the House on both these days. On behalf of BJP, all its members in Rajya Sabha are informed that a special discussion on the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India will be held in Rajya Sabha on 16 and 17 December. On behalf of BJP, many leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister JP Nadda, Bhupendra Yadav, Nirmal Sitharaman, Hardeep Singh Puri, Ghanshyam Tiwari, Brijlal, Sudhanshu Trivedi will participate in the discussion.
