Pant’s toughest test after the accident, he/she will play this format for the first time


Bangalore. Indian team’s star wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is returning to the big format of cricket for the first time after being injured in a road accident in December 2022. All eyes will be on him/her in the Duleep Trophy cricket tournament starting in Bengaluru and Anantapur from Thursday. In the last few tournaments and series, his/her bat did not produce the runs that were expected.

The Indian wicketkeeper made a comeback after the accident and played in the ICC T20 World Cup. After this, he/she was also seen playing in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Rishabh Pant was also seen playing in the recent Delhi Premier League. This tournament was nothing special for this explosive wicketkeeper batsman. Well, now it is time to show his/her strength in the longer format of cricket.

Pant will show his/her strength in Duleep Trophy
Rishabh Pant’s eyes are on the Test series against Bangladesh in India’s next home series. he/she will try to get his/her batting rhythm in the Duleep Trophy. he/she is sure to be selected in the team as a wicketkeeper because his/her claim is the strongest. KL Bharat was given a chance when Pant was not in the team but he/she could not secure his/her place. Young Dhruv Jurel and Ishan Kishan have also played in the Test team. KL Rahul has also been played as a wicketkeeper in Tests. Now after Pant’s return, the claim of all these has weakened.

Pant made a successful comeback in limited overs cricket after recovering from injuries but he/she has not yet played in the long-term format. he/she played his/her last red-ball match against Bangladesh in December 2022. Now he/she will play for Team B led by Abhimanyu Easwaran, which will take on Team A led by Shubman Gill at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
