Pankaj Tripathi: It is ‘Mirzapur’ that made us stars, earlier we were just the cast of the show

Once again Pankaj Tripathi starrer ‘Mirzapur’ is ready to knock on OTT. The third series of ‘Mirzapur’ is coming on July 5, for which the audience is already looking forward to it. Now Pankaj Tripathi has said a few things about this series and told that this show has shown him/her stardom. Famous actor Pankaj Tripathi, who played the character of Kaleen Bhaiya in the ‘Mirzapur’ series, said that before this show became popular, he/she and other stars were known only as an ‘artist’. Pankaj said, ‘Mirzapur has played an important role in my career. Especially during interviews, journalists often call us ‘star cast’, but before Mirzapur became popular, we were only the cast of the show. Pankaj Tripathi credits ‘Mirzapur’ for the stardom he/she is enjoying today.

Talking about the cast of this series, apart from him/her, it also includes Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Duggal, Vijay Verma, Isha Talwar, Anjum Sharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chaddha, Meghna Malik and Manu Rishi Chaddha. he/she said, ‘It is the Mirzapur series that made us stars. After season 1, the response I have received from fans, especially women, has surprised me. This made me realize that Kaleen Bhaiya is different from any other don that Indian audiences have ever seen on celluloid.’

Pankaj said, ‘Unlike the traditional mafia and dons, they pretend to be influential and well behaved, ethical and trustworthy. Kaleen Bhaiya is not a common criminal, this is what makes him/her different from others. We humans have many facets and Kaleen Bhaiya is a perfect example of this.’

The first season of the series, which began in 2018, featured Pankaj’s character Akhandanand Tripathi, popularly known as Kaleen Bhaiya, a dreaded gangster in Mirzapur, Purvanchal, Uttar Pradesh. Produced by Excel Media and Entertainment, Mirzapur Season 3 is directed by Gurmeet Singh and Anand Iyer. The ten-episode series will premiere on Prime Video on July 5.

Pankaj Tripathi’s next film is ‘Stree 2’

Talking about films, Pankaj will next be seen in Amar Kaushik’s horror comedy ‘Stree 2’. The film is a sequel to the 2018 film ‘Stree’, starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana.
