Pakistan’s drama will not work, if removed from Champions Trophy, it may be banned

Karachi. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already created a lot of ruckus regarding the ICC Champions Trophy. After India refused to play in Pakistan, it has been threatening not to play in the tournament. If for some reason he/she decides to withdraw from this 50 over competition to be held in February-March next year, then he/she may have to suffer huge losses. Not only this, he/she may also have to face lawsuits and may also be isolated from international cricket.

A senior cricket administrator associated with organizing the International Cricket Council (ICC) tournament shared special information. Told PTI on Wednesday that if the ICC and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refuse to completely accept the hybrid model, it will not be easy for the PCB to decide to withdraw from the tournament. “Pakistan has not only signed a hosting agreement with the ICC, but like all other participating countries, it has also signed a Members Mandatory Participation Agreement (MPA) with the ICC,” the official said. Have signed.

he/she said, “Only after signing the MPA to participate in ICC tournaments, a member country is entitled to receive a share of the earnings from ICC competitions. The most important thing that ICC has done is that it has signed an agreement with the broadcaster for all its competitions in which it has guaranteed that all its member countries will participate in ICC competitions including the Champions Trophy.

Last week, the ICC was successful in getting consent to organize the Champions Trophy in a hybrid model. According to this, India will play its matches in Dubai. Apart from this, this arrangement will remain intact in ICC competitions till 2027. However, this has not been formally announced yet.

If this agreement is reached, it will mean that Pakistan will not be forced to tour India for ICC competitions till 2027. The broadcaster said that if Pakistan withdraws from the Champions Trophy, the ICC and even the other 16 member countries on the ICC Executive Board can sue it. Broadcasters can also adopt this path because Pakistan’s exit will be a loss to all stakeholders. he/she also revealed that the PCB did not get solid support from other members of the executive board.
