Pakistani army starts action in Balochistan, more than 50 forcibly disappeared


The Pakistani Army has carried out a series of raids across Balochistan, resulting in the enforced disappearance of more than 50 people. According to Balochistan Post, operations have been conducted in Turbat, Dera Bugti, Sui, Barkhan and Kalat, in which dozens of people have been detained.

The latest raid took place in Turbat on Thursday morning, where Pakistani forces attacked a residential area and detained several people.

Those missing include Zafar son of Mohammad Rahim, Rahim Jan son of Zafar and Mohammad Karim son of Bahram. Five guests from Zafar’s guest house were also taken into custody, one of whom was identified as Jabbar and the rest are unidentified.

Pakistani forces abducted two persons in Dera Bugti, Balochistan on Wednesday night. Dangla, son of Haji Moz Bugti, was taken from Mohammed Colony along with Pir Mohammad, son of Pano Bugti and Ismail, son of Lalu Bugti.

There have been reports of forced disappearances from Barkhan and Kalat. In Barkhan, Rashid Ahmed Khaitan, son of Master Gul Mohammed Jan Bughio, was abducted on November 27 while traveling from Dera Ghazi Khan to Barkhan. his/her current whereabouts are unknown.

Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), a human rights group advocating an end to enforced disappearances in Balochistan and the safe release of thousands of Baloch missing persons, has completed the 5650th day of protests. In Quetta on Thursday. The elderly mother of missing Rashid Hussain Baloch visited the camp to express solidarity with the families of the missing persons.

Speaking at the camp, she said that she has been knocking on the door of justice for years for the safe release of her son. he/she said that the institutions of this country are not ready to provide justice according to the Constitution. he/she appealed to human rights groups to raise their voice for the safe release of his/her son.
