Pakistan will stop talking about Champions Trophy, ICC will release the schedule

Dubai. The Pakistan Cricket Board, which created a ruckus after India refused to go to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy, is soon going to stop speaking. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to finalize the schedule of the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan in February-March next year. It is reported to be released in a virtual (online) meeting on November 29. There has been a lot of delay in releasing the schedule of the tournament.

The reason for the delay is India’s refusal to play in Pakistan given the strained relations between the two countries. India has not toured Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants the tournament to be played in a hybrid model. The matches should be organized in some third country instead of India. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet agreed on this.

“The ICC Board will meet on November 29 to discuss the Champions Trophy schedule,” an ICC spokesperson told PTI on Tuesday.

This important virtual meeting is taking place two days before BCCI Secretary Jay Shah takes charge as ICC President on December 1. he/she and other board members will be eager to resolve the matter before the new officials take office.

BCCI had informed ICC about not sending the Indian team to play the Champions Trophy. This matter was told by ICC to Pakistan Cricket Board, after which there has been an uproar. BCCI talked about moving the Indian team’s matches out of Pakistan, which was completely rejected by the PCB. Now the ball is in the ICC’s court and due to Pakistan’s insistence, it can even get the tournament thrown out.
