Pakistan: Terrorists attack Bannu cantonment, 8 soldiers martyred, 10 terrorists killed in retaliatory action




On Monday, a group of 10 militants attacked the Bannu cantonment, resulting in the death of eight Pakistani soldiers.

Geo News Urdu said on X that security forces engaged in an encounter with the militants and all 10 militants were killed.

The terrorists attacked the cantonment wall with a vehicle packed with explosives, resulting in the collapse of the wall and widespread destruction in the surrounding area.

The soldiers martyred during the attack include Naib Subedar Muhammad Shahzad, Havaldar Jal Hussain, Havaldar Shahzad Ahmed, Sepoy Ashfaq Hussain, Sepoy Subhan Majeed, Sepoy Imtiyaz Khan, Sepoy Arsalan Aslam and Lance Naik Sabz Ali of the FC.

These soldiers are from Poonch Azad Kashmir district, Khushab, Neelam Azad Kashmir district, Muzaffarabad Azad Kashmir district, Karak district, Bahawalpur district and Lucky Marwat.

This act of terrorism was carried out by the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, which operates from Afghanistan, the group has previously used Afghan soil for terrorist activities in Pakistan.

The ISPR says the Interim Government of Afghanistan will take effective action against such elements, take all necessary steps against these threats emanating from Afghanistan, while the armed forces will continue to fight and protect the people of the motherland and their country against this scourge of terrorism.
