Pakistan’s vocal support of China’s position on Taiwan comes amid growing global attention on Taiwan Strait tensions and increased diplomatic maneuvering around the island’s status.

With geopolitical complexities shaping regional dynamics, Pakistan’s affirmation of solidarity with China underlines the importance of alignment in the broader context of international relations.

China warned the US on Friday that efforts towards “Taiwan independence” are a “dead end” and “will only backfire”, after an unnamed US official urged Beijing to exercise restraint over the cross-Strait situation. .

According to a media report, PM Shahbaz is scheduled to visit China in the early week of the coming month to attend the official launch of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
