Pakistan is getting sharp bowlers from tape ball, these balls made the career of Rauf and Zaman.

Tape Ball Cricket In Pakistan: Tape ball cricket is very famous in Pakistan. In such cricket matches, tennis is played by wrapping tape on the ball. This is done to make the ball as heavy as a leather ball, although this ball is still lighter than a leather ball. Generally, due to inability to get expensive leather balls, such arrangements are made in street cricket. However, players playing cricket with such balls are now making waves at the international level.

Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf is the biggest example of this. The financial condition of Rauf’s family was not good. He rarely had the chance to play cricket with a leather ball. In such a situation, he used to bowl a lot with tape ball. While bowling these balls, his speed increased and he also started throwing deadly yorkers. He has made a special place for himself as a fast bowler in international cricket.

Like Rauf, another Pakistani bowler Zaman Khan has also played a lot of cricket with tape ball. Zaman’s parents also worked as laborers to run the house. Zaman was fond of playing cricket since childhood. In such a situation, tape ball became his support. By improving his bowling with these balls, he reached the international level.

Riyazat Ali also came out of tape ball cricket
In Pakistan, there are not only Rauf and Zaman but many such bowlers who have now reached good positions in cricket while playing tape ball. Many bowlers playing Pakistan Super League are the product of tape ball cricket. Recently, Pakistan’s tape ball cricketer, playing for Uganda, has got his team qualified for T20 World Cup 2024. Riyazat Ali Shah played cricket a lot with tape balls in Pakistan and similar balls made him an all-rounder. Now he plays international cricket for Uganda.

Pakistani cricketers make a splash in T20 only because of tape ball cricket.
Tape ball cricket played in Pakistan is of 10 to 20 overs only. There are not many rules like LBW here. The batsman swings the bat from the first ball itself. On the other hand, the bowler prevents the score board from increasing by bringing different types of variations in his balls due to the fear of hitting fours and sixes. During this time, the work of applying tape on the ball continues every few overs. This format of quick cricket is popular in Pakistan and this is the reason why players emerging from it are now earning name at the international level.
